Wales

Wales

When to visit?

Did you know? Wales is often called the "Castle Capital of the World." Despite its relatively small size, it has more castles per square mile than any other country in the world. At one point, there were over 600 castles dotting the Welsh landscape.

Peak: June – August. These months offer warm long days. More crowds.

Shoulder: April – May & September – October. These months offer great weather for exploring but are cooler.

Off-Peak: November – March. Chilly weather but less crowds. You may experience snow. It a great time to visit historical areas without many crowds. These are the wettest months but you can still get prefect sunny days with less crowds.

Card, Cash, or both?

Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Wales.

Connectivity & Tech

  • Cellular Service: Service is great throughout the country, except in some remote areas.

  • Power & Plugs: Wales uses the Type G plug (three-pin UK standard). The voltage is 230V.

My most uncalibrated experience in Argentina

Driving and arriving at Caernarfon castle. You spend miles winding through this lush, peaceful farmland full of sheep, and the roads get narrower and narrower as you approach the town. Then, without warning, you turn a corner and there it is—this absolute gorgeous castle. Wales may be a small country, but the sheer “uncalibrated” weight of history in every square mile is staggering. Seeing that massive fortress standing as a living testament to centuries of conflict and power, tucked right into the middle of everyday life, was a powerful reminder of how much human history is packed into this landscape.
